杂诗

晨炊未登盘，
The morning meal is not yet prepared,
饥肠已戚戚。
but the hungry stomach already feels desolate.
欲问堂上人，
I want to ask the people in the hall,
先闻发叹息。
but first I hear their sighs.
苟念一饷饥，
If one thinks of the hungry,
况艰终岁食。
how much more difficult it must be to eat throughout the year.
茫茫九州间，
In the vast land of the Nine States,
几人悲罄室。
how many people are lamenting their empty houses.
吾欲呼天工，
I want to call upon the divine creator,
驱雷驾云龙。
to drive the thunder and control the dragons in the sky.
十日一风雨，
If every ten days there is wind and rain,
五谷千常丰。
then the five grains will always be abundant.
佩刀化为农，
Even with a sword at my side, I become a farmer,
孙哺百岁翁。
providing for my elderly parents.
完助阴阳功，
With complete devotion to the balance of yin and yang,
不顾吾盘空。
I pay no attention to my empty plate.
